ArtsLink International Fellowships Application Call

Application Deadline: October 30, 2019

CEC ArtsLink is pleased to invite artists, arts managers and curators from all arts disciplines from 37 eligible countries to apply for ArtsLink International Fellowships. The ArtsLink International Fellowships focus resources on key individuals from the eligible countries as well as foster international exchange. The Fellowships are framed by the creative process, artistic intention, and an active commitment to community engagement and dialogue. The initial six-week Residencies will take place in Fall 2020.

Open Call HongKong Artist in Residency

Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop is offering one artist access for three months to one of its spectacular 350 square foot studio spaces, with both natural and professional lighting. Working above the gallery space, the successful applicant has the opportunity to network with artists, curators, collectors and the wider public whilst visiting ongoing exhibitions and events organised in the gallery. The residency programme will also provide guidance from gallery directors as well as an end-of-residency solo exhibition organised in the studio space upstairs.

Solo Artist Residency in London (December 2019 to February 2020)

Winter Residency in South West France

Application Deadline: September 09, 2019

Studio Faire is a contemporary art space in South West France, providing residencies for artists, writers, musicians and all other types of creative practitioner.

Studio Faire is now accepting applications from all types of creative practitioner for this 2 week residency in November 2019.

The residency is based in a beautiful Maison de maître built around 1840 and still retaining its period characteristics. Situated in the market town of Nérac, in the stunning Lot-et-Garonne region, on the northern edge of Gascony, here you will find the ‘real’ unspoilt France. Medieval Villages are surrounded by green rolling hills that lead your eye to the horizon via fruit orchards and vines. The perfect place to slow down and focus.

Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio 2019-2020

Application Deadline: Sunday, September 8, 2019

Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio is organizing international open call Artists in Residence project “s(k)now” with the project keywords: Winter, Snow, and the Subarctic. All applicants go to the selection process, after the result of it we are going to invite one artist (one group of artists) into “Exhibition Program” and “Artist-in-School Program” for each. In their encounters with culture in Sapporo and Hokkaido as well as exchange with locals, artists are invited to develop and explore their ideas through work based on the project keywords Winter, Snow, and the Subarctic. We will assist participants in mastering a plan, research and production during the residency. In this year, we are organizing Exhibition Program, Artist-in-School Program and Exchange Program with Kwangju, Republic of Korea and Taidong, Taiwan within 2019-2020 s(k)now project supported by Agency for Cultural Affairs Government of Japan, we are expecting incidental encounters among those artists. We look forward to receiving enthusiastic applications from artists and creators.

Shanghai Urban Space Art Season 2019: Open call for artworks

Submission period August 26 through August 31, 2019

Shanghai Urban Space Art Season 2019 (SUSAS 2019) will open at the end of September this year and last for nearly two months. SUSAS 2019 is honored to have Mr. Fram Kitagawa, the art director of Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale and Setouchi Triennale, as its artistic director who curates the entire event under the theme of Encounter. The program includes 20 permanent public artworks standing in various spots of the 5.5km long Yangpu Waterfront, which is enclosed by Yangshupu Road on its north, Huangpu River on its south, Qinhuangdao Road on its west and Dinghai Road on its east, as well as 5 artworks whose proposals we are now publicly calling for. Besides, a temporary exhibition will be held at the main exhibition area which used to be Shanghai Dockyard.

We support organizations led by historically marginalized groups who are working to build strong, connected movements for gender equality and human rights. PlySpace (www.plyspace.org) is an artist-in-residence program in Muncie, Indiana, that is dedicated to offering visual artists, writers, performers, designers, and other creative individuals time and space to investigate and pursue their own practices. Additionally, it serves as a platform for experimentation and provocation by catalyzing conversation and collaboration with various Muncie communities. PlySpace facilitates opportunities for residents to engage with the public through partnership and programming that is tailored to their area of interest. CRETA Rome Artist Residencies

C.R.E.T.A. Rome offers self-funded residencies to international ceramicists, visual artists, and writers for periods of 4 or 5 weeks. The residency includes a semi-private equipped studio, housing in the historical center of Rome, and technical assistance in procuring materials for your work, firings, etc., advice on museums, galleries and sites in Rome and beyond.

Lydon Emerging Artist Program (LEAP)

Application Deadline: December 31, 2018 for the 2019 grant cycle

The LEAP award provides a $1000 grant to one grantee for an early career artist in the contemporary craft field. The gift is intended to be used towards a new product line or body of work. The Society for Contemporary Craft will commit to promoting the work for the duration of one year along with providing special features on six finalists.

Artist Grant

Application Deadline: There are four grant cycle deadlines per year – January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15.

Founded in 2017, Artist Grant is a new venture that aims to support and fund artists. To that end, this charitable organization funds the efforts of artists to continue their important work and contributions to society, providing a modest competitive grant of $500 to one artist every quarter.

A micro-granting organization, funding “awesome” ideas, The Awesome Foundation set up local chapters around the world to provide rolling grants of $1000 to “awesome projects.” Each chapter defines what is “awesome” for their local community, but most include arts initiative and public or social practice art projects.

The Harpo Foundation Grants for Visual Artists

The Harpo Foundation seeks to stimulate creative inquiry and to encourage new modes of thinking about art. Applications are evaluated on the basis of the quality of the artist’s work, the potential to expand aesthetic inquiry, and its relationship to the foundation’s priority to provide support to visual artists who are under-recognized by the field.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant

Application Deadline: open

Established as part of Lee Krasner’s legacy, the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant was set up to support and strengthen the creative lives of artists. A competitive grant for artists with extensive exhibition records, this grant has a long list of impressive alumni. Since its start in 1985, the foundation has granted over 65 million dollars in award money to artists in over 77 countries.

Art Hawaii International is a contemporary art fair with inaugural dates November 6-10, 2019, located in Honolulu at Hawaii Convention Center. The spectacular location will bring local visitors, as well as destination art travelers from around the world.
AHI exhibitors include vetted international galleries, museums, art foundations, art publications, art films and art talks. The art fair program includes annual curatorial themes highlighting important subjects through art.
